Bars Free Virtual
Self-Paced, 8 Credits Tuition: 150.00 Pre-Req: Licensed Massage Therapist
This introduction class to (seated) barefoot massage is taught in our DeepFeet 1 Posterior Basics Course. Taking the Bars Free Seated portion will allow you to dip your toes in the water and taste Ashiatsu without installing the overhead parallel bars. It is ideal for any therapist seeking a new tool and method for deep tissue massage techniques.
You will learn a full 45-60-minute barefoot protocol that combines seated prone, supine, and side-lying barefoot techniques. This course will not only include warm-up strokes such as effleurage, petrissage, and compression but will include more profound techniques such as cross-fiber friction, positional release, and trigger point therapy. We cover contraindications specific to deep tissue and ashiatsu methods and how to communicate effectively with your clients during the treatment. We train our students to work “smart, not hard,” and find that the seated introduction course is an excellent class for thinking differently about how you perform deep tissue massage techniques.
BONUS: If you take this course, we will give you $200 for any live or virtual DeepFeet 1 Course to help take your barefoot skills to the next level!
